Merchandise Planning Manager Tom Beckbe is hiring a Merchandise Planner to own open-to-buy plans, seasonal line plans, demand forecasting, and inventory optimization across multiple product categories and distribution channels. As Merchandise Planner, you will work closely with the product, sales, and finance teams to drive sales, margin, and inventory turn goals while delivering actionable insights to leadership.Essential Duties and
ResponsibilitiesDevelop comprehensive merchandise plans aligned with company goals, sales targets, and market trends for multiple product categoriesBuild and maintain seasonal line plans Own and lead Open-to-Buy meetings and monthly reviews with senior leadershipForecast demand using historical data, market trends, and customer insights to drive inventory and replenishment strategiesMonitor inventory levels, analyze sell-through rates, and recommend actions to optimize inventory turnover while minimizing stock-outs and overstockConduct regular financial analysis of sales performance, margin trends, and product profitability, delivering actionable recommendations to managementHelp manage the financial success of Tom Beckbe by meeting sales, margin, and inventory turn targetsEnsure structured reporting deliverables are accurate, efficient, and follow standardized best practicesIdentify opportunities beyond day-to-day operations to maximize sales potential and surface them with clear, data-driven recommendations
QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience3+ years of assortment, demand, and merchandise planning experience with a multi-channel (ecommerce, brick-and-mortar, and wholesale) retail businessStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional experience and aptitude for retail math and metrics High proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.) and strong aptitude to learn new technical applications quickly (e.g., NetSuite)Exceptional communication and presentation skills with an ability to present complex information concisely to a variety of audiencesAbility to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and work with critical stakeholdersFlexible and adaptive to changing prioritiesAbility to organize and prioritize workload independentlyExperience with use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or similar) for work (e.g., prompt iteration and critical output evaluation) a plus(Updated 10.20.26)
