IVEX Raises Series A funding: read moreSolutionsCasesAboutNewsCareersContact usIVEX Raises Series A funding: read moreSolutionsCasesAboutNewsCareersContact usEngineeringVehicle Sensor Kit EngineerLocation: Leuven, BelgiumIVEX is looking for a hands-on Vehicle Sensor Kit Engineer to lead the continuous improvement of our Reference Sensor Kit for real-world ADAS and Automated Driving testing.Our sensor kits combine cameras, GNSS-IMU, LiDAR, data logging, and software to collect reliable vehicle data during on-road testing. Your goal will be to make the entire system as robust, reliable, and easy to use as possible - from sensor and camera performance to cabling, mounting, software, and installation.You will test the system in real-world driving conditions, identify its weak points, and turn them into engineering improvements. This includes challenges such as changing light conditions, night driving, rain, temperature, vibration, long recording sessions, sensor failures, and installation errors.In this role you willOwn the technical improvement and reliability of the IVEX Reference Sensor Kit.Evaluate and improve sensor hardware, with particular attention to camera image quality and reliable data capture under challenging conditions such as bright sunlight, low light, glare, rapidly changing exposure, night driving, and adverse weather.Improve the complete hardware setup, including cameras, GNSS-IMU, LiDAR, data loggers, power supply, cabling, connectors, mounting, and related components.Design and execute real-world and laboratory tests to identify failure modes and validate improvements.Improve sensor integration, configuration, diagnostics, monitoring, and data recording software.Investigate hardware and software issues using recorded data, logs, measurements, and systematic testing.Improve installation, calibration, and verification workflows so that customers can instrument vehicles quickly, correctly, and with minimal technical expertise.Simplify cabling, mounting, packaging, and other physical aspects of the kit to make installation more intuitive and repeatable.Work closely with software engineers, application engineers, suppliers, and customers to turn field experience into concrete product improvements.Define test procedures, acceptance criteria, and documentation to ensure every sensor kit delivers consistent performance.What we are looking forBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automotive Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Strong hands-on engineering skills and experience integrating hardware and software into complete systems.Experience working with cameras, sensors, data acquisition systems, embedded devices, or similar hardware.Good understanding of digital cameras and image acquisition, including concepts such as exposure, gain, frame rate, resolution, dynamic range, synchronization, and image quality.Experience troubleshooting electrical and hardware systems, including power, cabling, connectors, communication interfaces, and sensor connectivity.Comfortable working with Linux and using Python or similar tools for testing, automation, data analysis, and debugging.A systematic engineering mindset: able to reproduce problems, identify root causes, design tests, compare solutions, and validate improvements.Strong practical problem-solving skills and willingness to work directly with vehicles, prototypes, sensors, cables, mounting systems, and test equipment.Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.Nice to haveExperience developing or integrating automotive sensor systems.Experience with vehicle cameras, LiDAR, GNSS, IMUs, or multi-sensor data acquisition.Experience optimizing cameras for difficult real-world conditions, including low light, high dynamic range, glare, LED/LCD displays, flicker, and changing exposure.Experience with embedded Linux platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson or similar systems.Knowledge of camera and sensor interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, GMSL, CAN, or similar technologies.Experience with multi-sensor time synchronization and timestamping.Experience designing or validating automotive cabling, power systems, connectors, enclosures, or mounting solutions.Familiarity with environmental and reliability testing involving temperature, vibration, weather, power interruptions, or long-duration operation.Experience working directly with customers or technicians installing technical equipment in vehicles.Familiarity with ADAS/AD testing or Euro NCAP testing workflows.We offerA competitive salary, benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth at a dynamic startup.This is a highly hands-on role where you will have direct ownership of a physical product used in real-world vehicle testing.
