Job Title: General Manager Vacancy Location: Kiambu County Our client, Sigona Golf Club, is a respected private members’ club renowned for its championship golf course, welcoming community and high standards of service. They are inviting applications from accomplished leaders for the position of General Manager. This is an opportunity to shape the Club’s next chapter while preserving the traditions and member experience that define it. THE ROLE Reporting to the Board of Directors through the Honorary Secretary, the General Manager will provide overall leadership of the Club’s operations, translating Board strategy into measurable results and ensuring excellence across golf, hospitality, membership services, finance, facilities and people management. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead and coordinate all Club departments, setting clear operating standards and driving service quality, accountability and continuous improvement. • Develop and implement annual operating plans, budgets and forecasts; monitor financial performance, control costs and identify sustainable revenue opportunities. • Oversee golf operations and course standards, hospitality, events, facilities maintenance and the overall experience of members and guests. • Build strong relationships with members, the Board, staff, sponsors, suppliers and industry partners; strengthen member engagement, satisfaction and retention. • Lead, develop and appraise departmental heads and staff, fostering a high-performing, collaborative and service-focused culture. • Ensure regulatory compliance, effective risk management, sound internal controls and timely, accurate operational and financial reporting to the Board.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage. • At least 15 years’ progressive experience, including five years in senior management within hospitality or a private members’ club, with proven profit-and-loss accountability. • Working knowledge of golf operations, course management and membership dynamics. • Demonstrated strengths in strategic leadership, financial management, people development, stakeholder engagement and regulatory compliance. • Excellent communication, judgement and results orientation. • Prior General Manager experience in a comparable club, familiarity with golf, or relevant professional membership will be an advantage.
